Colombia Human Rights Activities
April 23-24, Washington DC


During the week of April 21, Colombia human rights will be the focus of several activities in Washington DC. During that week, people from all around the U.S. will be lobbying and holding a vigil at the U.S. Capitol to SHUT DOWN the School of the Americas.

Wednesday, April 23, on the East Center Steps of the U.S. Capitol, as part of the SHUT DOWN the School of the Americas vigil, Colombia will be focused on at 5 PM.

The next day, Thursday April 24, a demonstration and vigil will be held, in memory of the victims of the Trujillo Massacre and all victims of impunity in Colombia.

At 5 PM, people will start to gather in front of the Colombian Ambassador's Residence at Connecticut Ave and Q Street, with a rally starting at 5:30 PM.

Around 6 PM, participants will march to nearby Dupont Circle, for a Vigil in memory of the victims. The vigil will last from approx 6:15 to 7 PM.
