The Colombia Support Network strongly condemns the assassination of General (retired) Landazabal Reyes in Bogota May 12, 1998. We call upon all Colombians to work for peace and we reject acts of violence of which this is the latest in a most unfortunate long series. We call upon the Colombian government to locate and prosecute those responsible for Gen. Landazabal's killing and to take steps to protect the lives and wellbeing of public figures, as well as all private citizens, in Colombia.
