Colombian Military!

       		203 S. Dearborn,
        		Chicago, Illinois

The crisis of human rights in Colombia and the attack on innocent
Colombians continues to worsen. An average of a dozen people are
murdered daily in Colombia for political reasons; right now, someone in
Colombia is being tortured or killed. Almost none of these crimes result in
conviction and punishment of the perpetrators. Where the persons
responsible are identified, some 65% are members of the Colombian military,
police, or paramilitary groups which collaborate with the Colombian military.

The U.S. government, meanwhile, has in the last decade trained numerous
Colombian military officers at the School of Americas, and showered nearly
a billion dollars in aid and equipment to the Colombian military,
supposedly for the so-called "war-on-drugs". Instead these funds have
contributed greatly to the death of more than 30,000 innocent Colombian
civilians since 1988 and the suffering of tens of thousands more. Over a
million Colombians have been forced to flee their homes because of the
violence.

Help Stop the Dirty War in Colombia!
