CSN Condemns All Armed Violence Against Civilians

The COLOMBIA SUPPORT NETWORK strongly condemns the attacks on the civilian population of Colombia by any armed group. These attacks are a violation of International Humanitarian Law and must cease at once.

We demand the immediate, unconditional release of the passengers of the hijacked Avianca plane, Senator Piedad Córdoba, and the parishioners of the La Maria Church from the neighborhood Ciudad Jardin in Cali.

This statement does not diminish our continued support for peace talks between representatives of the Colombian government and representatives of the guerillas. Furthermore, we continue to believe that peace can only come to Colombia when there is justice for all people.
