CSN Statement on El Nogal Bombing

The Colombia Support Network denounces the bombing which occurred on Friday, February 7 at the social club El Nogal in Bogota. The use of massive amounts of explosives which killed 33 and injured another 165 civilians including a number of children is deplorable. We condemn the armed actors who were responsible for this violent act and call upon the Colombian government to take action and sanction those responsible.
The Colombia Support Network notes with sadness the increasing number of human rights violations that are occurring in Colombia. Not only has the number of these events increased but the involvement of civilians in the war has mounted.
We also call upon all of the armed actors to seek peace actively, to return to the peace talks, and to work toward a peaceful solution which is just and right for all citizens of the country.
