35th Annual Freeze for Food – 5k/10k walk/run

F4F-2015

On January 23, 2016, the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Madison and the Colombia Support Network are co-sponsoring the 35th Annual Freeze for Food, a 5K/10K walk/run beginning at the Vilas Park ice rink warming shelter, and continuing around Lake Wingra. Funds from this all-volunteer event directly benefit food security projects in the Peace Community of San Jose de Apartadó, a village that denounces violence from guerrillas, paramilitaries and the Colombian Army. The Peace Community is Dane County’s Sister Community. The race is a qualified event in the Madison Area Running Series, and pre-registration may be done electronically through https://runsignup.com/, or by mail by downloading a brochure at rpcvmadison.org. Race day registration is also possible at the Vilas Park ice rink warming shelter beginning at 11:15 am.

For more information, contact Jack Laun by cell: 608-354-1760 or email: jlaun515@gmail.com.

The race never cancels due to weather.
