As we all are giving our attention to the issue of the plebiscite in Colombia and how the Peace Process will be implemented, there are issues happening in the countryside that show that the Colombian Army and Police do not seem prepared for a country at peace. Consider the following examples:

Request that the Colombian Army and Police stop at once their human rights violations in the rural areas of the country. Why does the New Granada Battalion arbitrarily detain peasants by using unknown human sources accusing them of being ELN guerrillas? Why does the 17th Brigade in Uraba let the paramilitaries act freely to invade the territory of the Peace Community? Ask why the Army and Police do not stop the paramilitaries?
