Your principles and your convictions transcend borders and remain profoundly impregnated into our lives, reaching as far as the viscera in those of us who had the privilege to walk with you.
Now your body is transcended, and the pain is infinite. However, you will be with us forever, in our heartbeat; you are still present, alive in your legacy of love for life and your tireless defense of the poor, of the those deprived of their rights, especially those of us who have suffered the scourges of the war and the violence, without having been part of it.
Your words, your instruction, your commitment will remain in every one of us forever: girls, women, young people, grandparents, leaders. You won’t be absent from our memory, because your impact can never be erased.
You will always be here, accompanying us in every struggle for dignity, for justice, and for peace; in every act of resistance, of solidarity, and in every hope that refuses to die.
Thank you, Father Javier, for your life surrendered to others, for your courage, and for teaching us that defending our lives and our human dignity is also a form of loving.
